Rene GorisBorn 1963, Amsterdam. Born with a Kidney inflamation that was not fully cured until he started exercising Qigong and Yoga. Started practicing from about 11 years old. Started in the same period to study in western hermetic traditions for healing and mental development.

Studied with several Daoist, Boeddhist and Shamanic Masters from China, Mongolia, Tibet and Japan. From these he considers Daoist Master Liu An his primary teacher and source for his own classes. Started teaching and treating people from 1989 at the request of some of his teachers. Graduated in Tuina, Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine at the ETAATC in 1996.

In the same period he studied traditional mysticism and magical lore with a number of Native Australian tribal people as well as with a Native American healer. Worked briefly in 1998 with a New Mexican medicin man. These experiences opened up a variety of cross cultural exchanges that made underlying esotherical methodology form asian countries more accesseble. Co-Founded the Yin Yang Center for Intercultural Medicine in Amsterdam in 1995 to facilitate organised classes in Qigong and to practice Qigong therapy. The center is open to people from a variety of backgrounds to teach or heal.

Founded the Oriental College for Qigong studies in 1996 for academic studies of traditional and modern Qigong. Co-founder for the Info HRIH.net and the International Qigong Academy for Supportive Distance Education and specialised training programms (1998).

Holds a Master Degree in Medical Antropology since 1997 and is currently working at a paper for a Philosophical Degree on Daoist and Boeddhist psychology.

Has published a book in the Dutch language on Qigong essentials. It is called 'Basisboek Qigong', and is currently used as a standard by most teachers and schools, as well as translators of other works in the Dutch tongue.

Is currently working on an English interpretation of the Yi Jing, based on the original symbols used in the text as well as the graphic depictions. The Yi is meant to be used as a manual for Qigong practitioners, fortune tellers and deviners.
